Have you noticed all the new items going up on rewarevintage.com this week? In case you haven’t, I’ve listed over 30 new items so far (and it’s only Wednesday!). I’m trying to get super-stocked up, as we’ve got a bunch of events coming up over the next few weeks that we’ll be selling at (check them out on the main page), plus Dan and I will be taking a road trip vacation for 5 days in July for my *gasp* 30th birthday.

Some of my favorites listed so far this week:

Detroit Tigers T Shirt with some random guys name on the back in fuzzy iron on letters

Tote Bag I made from vintage fabric (there’ll be a whole bunch of these in different fabrics later this summer)

and Record Pins - an ingenious idea of Dans!

And there is soooo much more - shop around and see!

I love road trips!

I spent most of my day yesterday in Toledo, Ohio buying goodies for the website. I spent a few hours in different thrift stores in the area (which I hadn’t been to in years) and got some real gems including an 80’s Diane Von Furstenberg sweater, an old school Detroit Tigers shirt, some David Bowie albums and some awesome sweatshirts - LA Gear, IOU, Sassoon, and New York Yankees - all from the 80’s! I was also really excited to find a Ben Folds shirt from his Rockin the Suburbs tour (that one’s for me!).

Next I met with Shayna who had contacted me quite a long time ago wanting to sell a collection of womens vintage clothing she’d decided to part with. After lots of emails back and forth we were actually going to meet! Shayna and her friend were super nice and a real pleasure to meet. I bought some fantastic dresses, skirts, shirts and coats from her and am excited to begin photographing them along with an entire closet here in our house full of womens clothing next week!

It was a really fun road trip, and perfect weather for the day. I met with Dan after he got off work in Ann Arbor and we had a great dinner in the city and a couple of pints of Strongbow. I can’t wait to move out that way - each time I go to that area I get more and more excited. Now if we could only sell our house here in Pontiac…

I managed to stay awake and watch the Pistons game (which was a real nail biter, but I’m so glad they won!), but fell asleep soon afterwards from my exhausting but awesome day.

I’m thinking I’ll make Toledo a more regular day trip for the website! Maybe I can even carve a couple hours out to check out the Toledo zoo!

New Mannequins!

A couple of months ago I was able to find a great woman mannequin on Craigslist for a steal. I originally got her to use as a display at shows we would be selling at in the future, but after looking at her for a few days in the office I thought she would be useful at modeling women’s sized T shirts. Then it struck me that I should get a boyfriend for her that could model our mens T shirts too. I spent weeks looking for a used one, and on Monday took a look around on Ebay. I found her a mate with a stand and he came in the mail today.

Now it will be much easier for everyone to see the size and fit of our T shirts than it was with them pictured on the rod. Look for new T shirts up on the site this way next week, and we’ll begin slowly reposting new pictures of the T shirts already on the site soon too!

Colored Vinyl Jackpot!

I’ve spent the last two days shopping for records to make both record notebooks and record earrings from. I got a bunch of great new records for notebooks, but thanks to Record Time going out of business in Ferndale later this month, I got an unbelievable amount of colored vinyl 7″s! Now I can make record earrings in every color under the sun!

It will probably take me a couple months to get through it all (46 records total), but be patient and you’ll be able to get yellow, green, purple, hot pink, marbled, grey, baby blue, teal and so many more colors!

My personal favorite - clear lime green!

A trip well worth it!

Friday I went on an all day long out of town trip shopping for new vintage goodies for the website. While very exhausting, it was a lot of fun and I picked up soooo many great things that I was beyond excited! I found a couple dozen 70’s and 80’s T shirts, including another Huey Lewis and the News tour shirt and a bunch of old Disney shirts. Other highlights were a number of great plus size dresses, a 80’s Converse sweatshirt with tags still attached, and an Activision baseball cap. They’ll all start going up for sale in the next couple weeks!
