Survey – Vintage Baby?

Friday, January 15th, 2010

It’s been brought up a number of times lately to me…would Reware Vintage start carrying vintage baby and kid’s clothes?

Years ago, we tried it out and had a great response with a handful of parents.

I even had a baby Members Only jacket that was just about the cutest thing ever.

When the site went through some redesign and reorganization a few years ago, I decided to stop carrying vintage baby and kids clothes, but continued to pick up items for my friends who wanted them. But maybe it’s time for a comeback?

It’s up to you…give me your votes in the comments! Would you buy vintage for your kids? If so, what would you like? If not, tell me why!

Thanks for your help!

New Stores, New Items!

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

More and more stores around the country are selling our Record Notebooks, Earrings and Necklaces! I decided to limit the Michigan stores a bit, so here’s the new and revised list of our carrying stores:

Renga Arts in Occidental, California – Record Notebooks, Record Earrings, and Record Necklaces

Wholly Craft! in Columbus, Ohio – Record Notebooks and Record Earrings

Back In Time in Savannah, Georgia – Classic Rock Record Notebooks and Record Earrings

Dance Music Records in Tokyo, Japan – R&B, Funk and Rap Record Notebooks

Flair Boutique in Royal Oak and Rochester Hills, Michigan – Record Notebooks

Naka in Ferndale, Michigan – Record Notebooks

Noir Leather in Royal Oak, Michigan – Metal and Classic Rock Record Notebooks

Also, I treated myself to a button maker machine for Christmas, and am using it to make fun new pins out of my HUGE stack of saved record sleeves. So much fun to make something new!!!

What do you think? I am thinking of selling them in themed packs of four, but would love some feedback before I go button-making crazy. Are there any artists or themes you’d like to see? Soundtracks pics, lyrics, 80’s, Bowie, Prince, what would you sport?

Inspired!

The past few weeks, and especially this week I’ve been in the mood to craft, and craft a lot! I’ve made a bunch of new record sleeve cards (they’ll be available on the site soon!), pouches, new gift tags, record notebooks, and more record earrings! I even made Peanut Butter cupcakes last night from February’s Martha Stewart Living magazine and *they are amazing* !

Partly, I’m inspired by the new Handmade Detroit craft show, Craft Revival, we’ve been planning, partly I’m just excited to have the time to be creative lately. I’m having fun diving into my piles of craft and sewing stashes to see what I can find, and in trying and making new things!

I’ve also had a number of requests lately from customers asking for specific albums and artists for record notebooks! I love getting requests, because sometimes it’s for an artist I normally wouldn’t think to make or don’t think there is much interest out there for it. It helps me realize what you are looking for, and what I should be looking for when I’m hunting for goodies for the site!

So, please let me know if you’d like to see me make something specific! Whether it is a specific record notebook, a color of record earrings, or a certain type of pouch you have in mind, I’d love to know! Would you like to applique a certain something on a skirt, shirt or bag? Let me know! I also always appreciate your feedback on new crafts you’d like to see, or vintage clothing you’re looking for!

You can always email me at bethany@rewarevintage.com with your ideas, or feel free to leave a comment instead if you’d like! Thanks everyone!!!

What Record Notebook would you like to see?

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

Lately I’ve strayed from making the “best sellers” notebooks (i.e. Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, etc.), and started using some new artists that I was iffy about like Hall & Oates, Belinda Carlisle, and Chuck Mangione. Much to my surprise, you all like those notebooks too! I’m so glad to branch out into new and different artists and have some fun and add humor to the books.

A couple of weeks ago, someone asked me for a custom Village People notebook – now that was one artist I never thought would be requested. And Elton John has become the new favorite request, which I never even made before until this last Christmas!

So I thought I would pose the question – what record notebook would you love to see me make next? One artist or ten, obscure or not, please let me know!!!
