Yesterday while I was thrifting, I found this dress and was inspired.
Such cute fabric – it’s tiny little dominoes (and it’s silk!)
It was an 80′s take on a popular 40′s design, but had been updated with HUGE shoulder pads, longer sleeves and a thinner, longer skirt. Still, it reminded me so much of this dress that I’d sold a couple years ago that I loved!
I bought it and made it my project for the evening. I cut out the shoulder pads, shortened and cuffed the sleeves, and re-hemmed the skirt to better fit my height. And now I love it so much more!
Now it’s 40′s meets 80′s meets 50′s meets today. Think I’ll wear it out tonight to Celebrate Michigan Design!
