Lynyrd Skynyrd Survival Kit

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Now, I’m not sure that you actually need Lynyrd Skynyrd to SURVIVE, but I gotta admit that this record insert has one cool T-shirt and one seriously awesome necklace on it.

Can’t seem to find that pendant anywhere, but if you want the T shirt it’s available on Ebay for $200 here.

Our Christmas Tree and the rest of our home is now decorated, and I’m in the holiday spirit!

Holiday Crafternoon

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

It’s our last craft show of the Holiday season! I’m really excited to be a part of this show, with some of my favorite Metro Detroit crafters!

Read more about the show on the Handmade Detroit blog here!

Bruce Willis, English Lessons, and Levi Jeans

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

I listened to Bruce Willis’ album “Return of Bruno” last night.

It was exactly what I expected, and was warned of.

Then, my friend Zuriel reminded me of his Levi’s commercials in the 80’s, so off to YouTube I went again.

Which then in turn sent me to this video, which is just about the greatest thing ever. This adorable Thai girl is teaching english via Ebay auction terminology, and then testing out a vintage pair of Levi’s Big E jeans to see if they really shrink to fit.

which then made me watch yet again, my favorite Levi’s commercial ever (also, directed by Spike Jonze!)

Funny how it always comes back to my love for Levi’s. True love.

I3 Detroit

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

I3 Detroit is doing some amazing stuff, including this cupcake car that was featured in Doug Coombe’s “Motor City Rides” in the Metrotimes last week, with the ladies of Handmade Detroit. Check out more pictures in the article, my favorite is Stephanie running with scissors.

Notice my 50’s Girl Scout dress has been making a lot of appearances in the blog lately? That’s cause all those pictures were all taken on the same day. Really, I don’t wear the dress THAT often.

Seriously, if you live near Detroit, sign up for some great (and cheap!) classes with I3 Detroit. Steph and I took a screenprinting class, where I made this record T shirt below. It’s my new favorite T shirt.
