Clothing Swap Finds

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

I volunteer at a few clothing swaps a year in Michigan. They are free to the community and I love dropping off a bag of clothes at the beginning of the day, and leaving at the end of the swap with a few treasures of my own! In today’s economy, I love that these are picking up in popularity and people are realizing that you can simply trade a LOT of necessities with your neighbors and swap rather than spend!

Last night I helped set one up, and traded some H&M clothing that is too big for me for a fantastic kid’s Pac Man shirt (I’ve got quite a collection of kid’s vintage…now I just need to have a child to put them on), a pair of striped 70’s shorts and a couple of really cheesy craft books. Can’t wait to see what I can find later today when I go back!

OutsaPop Trashion’s article on “The Doom on Second Hand Business” is really something to think about next time you’re shopping at the cheap-o stores in the mall.
