Stuff I should have written about in 2006

Well, once August hit, the rest of 2006 was a whirlwind of events, projects, and a whole lot of fun! It honestly didn’t even occur to me that I should be updating the blog at all until a couple weeks ago when I realized it had almost been 6 months!

So I’m going to attempt to cover the rest of the happenings and goings-on from 2006 here!

On Saturday August 5th, we were super proud to be a part of the first annual Detroit Urban Craft Fair, hosted by Handmade Detroit. Over 50 vendors, and a couple thousand customers came, and it was absolutely amazing to see something like this pulled together in Detroit.

Dan and I brought lots of record notebooks, along with some purses and skirts that we had made, and we were very excited from the responses of shoppers! I also caught up with Keith, owner of Noir Leather, who gave me my start buying vintage clothing for the now defunct Vintage Noir, and now our record notebooks are carried in Noir Leather year-round!

In September we had a booth at Dally in the Alley, also in Detroit. As always, we had a great time. This year was even better, cause we have a spankin new tent!!!!!

I was really geeked to also be invited to the Guerilla Art Show in Flint, hosted by the residents of the super sweet lofts at 625 S. Saginaw. I met so many inspiring artists and crafters from Flint, and got re-energized by the whole experience!

We did a bunch of other events, including our regular gigs at Baar Bazaar and Market for the Masses, and also the Handmade Detroit Holiday Market and the Big Holiday Baar Bazaar, all of which were really great and a lot of fun, but alas, I have no pictures to post!

Our little website was very busy the last few months of the year, and we were very excited to be sending out orders to so many new customers, some from national magazines, record labels, and bands!

The entire year was very inspiring and wonderful to us. We were very fortunate to meet many, many other fellow crafters, entreprenuers, vintage sellers and collectors! We had an absolute blast, and are very excited to see what happens in 2007!
